The school sets the weights once
Every class reads them. A teacher enters scores; nobody retypes a formula, and no screen invents one.
An unscored item is not a zero
A missing score means “not assessed yet” and is left out. Counting it as zero would make every student read as failing mid-quarter.
The grade is computed, never stored
The phone, the portal and the reports all derive it from the same function, so none of them can disagree.

Every finding names its numbers
“4 consecutive absences (threshold: 3)”, never “the algorithm flagged”. A guardian can be shown the arithmetic.
The school chooses the line
A threshold resolves from the class first, then the school, then TAKI’s default. An administrator sets them in the portal today.
No student data leaves the system
The engine is deterministic and runs against the school’s own records. Nothing is sent to a third-party service.
The nightly engine that raises these is still being built. The rules and the thresholds exist, and the portal applies them live to the records a school has. Nothing has been sent to a guardian. What is built
A back room, a storm, a province with one bar. The app does not ask.
Attendance and scores are written to the device as they are taken. The record exists before anything is sent.
Everything pending goes up in one transaction when a connection returns. A retry after a timeout produces the same result, never a second copy.
A teacher opens a phone, an administrator opens a browser, and both are looking at the same records. Pick one to see what it holds and whether you can have it yet.

Every table is default-deny and every query is filtered by policy, so a forgotten check hides data instead of exposing it.
Nothing about a student leaves the system for a third-party model. The early-warning rules run against the school’s own records.
A guardian contact carries the date consent was given and whether it was withdrawn. Messages are not sent to a contact without it.
